อีเซยอง เป็นนักแสดงชาวเกาหลีที่เริ่มต้นเส้นทางในวงการบันเทิงในฐานะนักแสดงเด็ก โดยเธอเดบิวต์ตอนอายุ 4 ปี ในปี 1997 ผ่านซีรีส์ ‘The Brothers’ River’ (형제의 강) ก่อนจะปรากฏตัวในภาพยนตร์-ซีรีส์จำนวนมาก และค่อย ๆ เติบโตจนกลายมาเป็นนักแสดงนำผู้ใหญ่อย่างเต็มตัวในปัจจุบัน พร้อมกับทักษะการแสดงที่แข็งแกร่ง
